The Creator God

Many will ask: "If there is no God who created the universe? Where did all of this come from? Surely something cannot come from nothing."

Several erroneous assumptions are made here. Let's look at them one by one.

"Who created the universe?"

The universe was created? As far as I know, there is no evidence of anything being created.

Something can't come from nothing."

There are several things wrong with this statement.

1. Something coming from nothing is debatable. Quantum theory maintains that virtual particles may come from nothing. And according to Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle, something must come from nothing sooner or later.

This is still being hotly debated. The assumption that "something can't come from nothing" has not yet been determined to be a fact.

2. When was there nothing?

Big Bang theory posits that "the universe sprang forth in a violent instant from an infinitely small point of infinite density." (Britt, 2001) Infinite density is not "nothing". Brane theory further suggests that two membranes ("branes") collided releasing heat and energy that resulted in our expanding universe. Branes are not "nothing".

It is possible that a state of nothingness never existed. Perhaps there was always "something".

3. Last, but not least, if something can't come from nothing without being created, who created God?
