Teachings of Jesus
Self-castration
Matthew 19
12 For some are eunuchs because they were born that way; others
were made that way by men; and others have renounced marriage[1] because
of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept
it."
[1] Or have made themselves eunuchs in some texts

Luke 14
26 "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father
and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters--yes, even
his own life--he cannot be my disciple.
Matthew 10
34 "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to
the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
35 For I have come to turn
" 'a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law--
36 a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.'
Poverty
Matthew 19
21 Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell
your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in
heaven. Then come, follow me."
Luke 12
33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses
for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will
not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.
Luke 19
7 All the people saw this and began to mutter, "He has
gone to be the guest of a 'sinner.' "
8 But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord! Here
and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated
anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount."
9 Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because
this man, too, is a son of Abraham.
Luke 8
14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear,
but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches
and pleasures, and they do not mature.
Feeding the Poor, or Not
Mark 14
1 Now the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread were only
two days away, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were
looking for some sly way to arrest Jesus and kill him.
2 "But not during the Feast," they said, "or the people
may riot."
3 While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of a man
known as Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very
expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the
perfume on his head.
4 Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, "Why
this waste of perfume?
5 It could have been sold for more than a year's wages[1] and the money
given to the poor." And they rebuked her harshly.
6 "Leave her alone," said Jesus. "Why are you bothering
her? She has done a beautiful thing to me.
7 The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any
time you want. But you will not always have me.
8 She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to
prepare for my burial.
9 I tell you the truth, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the
world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her."
10 Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went to the chief priests
to betray Jesus to them.
11 They were delighted to hear this and promised to give him money.
So he watched for an opportunity to hand him over.
Jesus states, "wherever the gospel is preached throughout the
world, this what she has done will also be told, in memory of her".
I'm not aware that this story is ever told.
