Jesus was not the MessiahThe Old Testament provides us with prophesies which, when fulfilled, will indicate that the Messiah has arrived. Most Christians will tell you that Jesus fulfilled all of them. Some will say that he fulfilled several hundreds of them. This is simply incorrect. The problem is twofold: 1) the prophesies Christians claim Jesus fulfilled either had nothing to do with the coming of the messiah or their fulfillment contradicts Christian dogma and 2) the actual prophesies which do address the coming of the messiah were not fulfilled by Jesus. Messianic
prophesies claimed by Christians
The other prophesies... The rest of the messianic prophesies are often omitted by Christians and for good reason. Jesus did not fulfill them either. He did not end all wars. He did not restore the kingdom of Israel or reign from David's throne. He did not render decisions for many peoples. All of mankind did not bow down before Yahweh. All of the descendants of the house of Israel have not returned to Israel. Let's look: The kingdom of Israel was not restored and Jesus did not reign from her throne. Jeremiah 23:5 "Behold, the days are coming,"
declares the Lord, "When I will raise up for David a righteous
Branch; And He will reign as king and act wisely Jesus did not end all war. Isaiah 2:4 And He will judge between the nations, and
will render decisions for many peoples; and they will hammer their swords
into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not
lift up sword against nation, Micah 4:3 And He will judge between many peoples and render decisions for mighty, distant nations. Then they will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks; nation will not lift up sword against nation, and never again will they train for war. Jesus did not end all war. Nor did he render decisions for "mighty, distant nations". When the Messiah comes everyone will worship Yahweh. Isaiah 66:23 "And it shall be from new moon to new
moon Zechariah 14:9 And the Lord will be king over all the earth; in that day the Lord will be the only one, and His name the only one. The exiles were not gathered in Israel. Isaiah 11:12 And He will lift up a standard for the nations Jeremiah 23:8 but, 'As the Lord lives, who brought up and led back the descendants of the household of Israel from the north land and from all the countries where I had driven them.' Then they will live on their own soil." Jeremiah 30:3 'For behold, days are coming,' declares the Lord, 'when I will restore the fortunes of My people Israel and Judah.' The Lord says, 'I will also bring them back to the land that I gave to their forefathers and they shall possess it.'" Clearly, Jesus did not fulfill any of the messianic prophesies.
