Geneaologies of Jesus
The two genealogies of Jesus listed in the Gospels are both for Joseph,
and they contradict each other. They also contradict the genealogies
of the Old Testament.

In addition, if Jesus was a descendant of Joseph, the lineage shown
for him through David is a cursed lineage. In Jeremiah 22:24 Yahweh
curses Jehoiachin, son of Jehoiakim, saying in verse 30:
30 This is what the LORD says:
"Record this man as if childless,
a man who will not prosper in his lifetime,
for none of his offspring will prosper,
none will sit on the throne of David
or rule anymore in Judah."
Finally, there is the issue of Timothy's statement on using genealogies.
The anonymous author of Timothy tells followers to avoid genealogies
and other false teachings.
Timothy 1
Warning Against False Teachers of the Law
3 As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus
so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any
longer
4 nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote
controversies rather than God's work--which is by faith.
Does this mean Matthew and Luke were false teachers?
