This site is maintained by a single individual in between working full-time and attending graduate school. The author is not a professional scholar, nor a student in any religious studies program.

I was originally raised Chrisitian but became an atheist in my 20's. I have spent decades studying both. It began when I was 10 years old, with the realization that what I was being taught in church had very little to do with what I read in my Bible. The more questions I asked the more confused, or hostile, the Christians around me became. So I went on an individual quest for the Truth and arrived at long last at atheism. I didn't give up my religion easily. It was a long and arduous process. Nor did I go in search of atheism. It was the last thing I wanted. But I wanted to find the Truth no matter where it took me. And here I have arrived.

I am now free of superstition, fear and guilt. I relish the life I have instead of an imaginary one in an afterlife for which there is no evidence. I am responsible for my actions and do not blame them on "Satan" or some elusive force of evil. Being an atheist is not for everyone. It takes a lot of guts. But for those who are strong enough it can be very rewarding.

As a result of my search I have spent several years in online chat rooms debating the topic of religion. This site is the culmination of that learning. The most important thing I have learned is that I have so much left to learn. As I acquire more knowledge I will be adding it to this site. If you would like to impart some please feel free to email me.

As an individual, this site can only reflect my own point of view. Having been raised as a Christian, and now living as an atheist it is from these perspectives that I work. This is particularly relevant in the Judaism and Islam sections.
